Emma Fogel, MSW, RSW is a registered social worker with a Masters of Social Work degree from the University of Toronto. Emma earned her Bachelor of Arts degree from the University of Western, where she obtained her Honours specialization in Psychology and completed her thesis with a specific focus on paediatrics.
Emma has extensive clinical experience working with children, adolescents and young adults and their families in hospital, educational and community-based settings. While Emma has also practiced with adult and geriatric populations, it is a true passion of hers to work with children and adolescents. Emma has provided both individual and group support and crisis interventions to individuals and families who struggle with mood and anxiety disorders, psychotic disorders, learning disabilities, and the impact of trauma and grief.
Emma is a strong believer that fostering a trusting therapeutic alliance with her clients is the key to a successful working relationship. As such, Emma draws on an eclectic framework to provide client-centered counselling support, which includes Cognitive Behavioural Therapy, Dialectical Behavioural Therapy, Mindfulness-Based Therapy, Solution Focused Therapy, and Play Therapy. Emma is devoted to fostering growth, independence and empowerment within each client and is committed to working collaboratively with clients and their families to improve their quality of life.
